Dietitian tells listeners about grape seed extract’s many benefits

Grapes are one of the most popular superfoods in our lives. Registered dietitian nutritionist Felicia Stoler told One Life Radio listeners that the fruit’s most potent nutrients are concentrated in the seeds and skin. This makes it difficult to get all the nutritious goodness just be eating a handful of grapes with your sandwich. Instead, many benefits may be best obtained by supplementing with a premium MegaNatural grape seed extract.

Stoler, who shared her list of the five superfoods that pack the healthiest punch with the show’s listeners, acknowledged our familiarity with grape’s wholesomeness. “Grapes are wonderful,” she said. “Stick them in the freezer and they serve as a great cool-you-off snack.” In addition to their sweet taste, grapes offer nutritional punch. “They have something called polyphenols which is part of the grape seed extract,” Stoler explained. “Polyphenols help out with metabolism, and they are also great at neutralizing free radicals.” Free radicals are renegade oxygen molecules which damage the body’s cells. They may accelerate the aging process and increase the risk of degenerative diseases.

Premium grape seed extracts have other benefits as well. “They also support heart health and glucose management,” Stoler said. MegaNatural-BP is a patented grape seed extract which has been clinically shown to maintain healthy blood pressure levels within the normal range.

Getting these benefits through food can be difficult. “You have to eat a lot of grapes in order to get that heart health benefit,” Stoler explained. “I recommend that people consider taking supplements such as the MegaNatural formulas which have grape seed extract.” She encouraged consuming grapes in many forms.

MegaNatural grape seed extracts come from 100 percent California-grown grapes, traceable to the fields in which they were grown. This farm-to-finish production method ensures that you’re getting a premium product.
