MegaNatural-BP research featured in prestigious international publication

Promising results of human clinical studies using MegaNatural-BP were reported in the October 2013 print and online issues of the Journal of Food Science, an Institute of Food Technologists publication that is read by members of the food science community in more than 100 countries.

In her article, Battling Blood Pressure, Contributing Editor Linda Milo Ohr, noted that more than 77 million American adults have been diagnosed high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. She then described several promising natural options for managing the condition, and highlighted grape seed extract.

Ohr focused on results of two of the most recent randomized, placebo-controlled studies using MegaNatural-BP. The first, led by C. Tissa Kappagoda and conducted at the University of California-Davis, found that MegaNatural-BP may help lower blood pressure among pre-hypertensive adults after just eight weeks. The second, led by Drs. Britt Burton-Freeman and Eunyoung Park, and conducted at the Illinois Institute of Technology, found that significant reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressure were experienced among pre-hypertensive adults after six weeks of drinking a beverage formulated with MegaNatural-BP.
